We would like to inform you that,
special measures must be taken when delivering and processing synthetic resins during the cold season, and these must be taken into account accordingly when planning construction sites.
The chemical and physical curing of our products based on reactive resins depends, among other factors, on air, surface, and material temperatures. As a result, undesirable side effects during application cannot be ruled out. Longer curing and reaction times—and consequently longer waiting periods before the material can be worked on— lower strength upon commissioning of renovated surfaces, and—in the worst case—incomplete curing of two- or multi-component products, carbamate formation, and other moisture-related damage due to reaching dew point temperatures. Furthermore, the higher viscosity also increases the consumption rates of the materials used.
We would like to draw your attention to the minimum and maximum temperatures specified in the individual technical data sheets and ask that you take these into account.
Additional measures to be followed regarding construction site planning are:
- Timely material planning for delivery to your construction site; logistics companies are also dependent on weather conditions
- Delivery at least one day before work begins and Temperature conditioning of the materials to the required application temperatures
- Tempering the rooms to be coated to the required minimum temperatures for the air, substrate, and material to be used. Reduce the output of or turn off underfloor heating before and during application
CAUTION: For water-based products, forced-air heaters can cause the water film on the surface to dry too quickly and lead to skin formation. Do not use gas heaters or forced-air heaters that burn oil directly inside the building, as this can cause shifts in the dew point.
As an alternative, you can use fast-curing and low-temperature-curing VIASOL reaction resins. Our sales representatives or technical service team will be happy to advise you on possible alternatives.
Frost-sensitive products, such as our water-based EP coatings or EP and PUR sealants, must be transported via thermal transport for technical reasons. In these cases, a freight surcharge must be applied. We ask for your understanding in this matter in accordance with our quality standards.
In your own best interest, we ask that you plan your construction project well in advance. No claims for compensation may be made for materials that are difficult to process or for damage resulting from weather-related conditions.
