Water is considered the most important natural resource and its protection should be an overriding goal of all human activity. This principle is anchored not least in German law as the Water Resources Act (WHG).

The law regulates the handling of substances that can cause "not only insignificant adverse changes in water quality". Such substances, such as oils, fuels, solvents or other chemicals, are mainly found in industrial or commercial areas and can lead to significant contamination of water bodies if they penetrate the soil. The Water Resources Act differentiates between two types of facilities, depending on how the water-polluting substances are handled, which must be protected in different ways: LAU facilities are used to store, fill and transfer the substances, as is the case, for example, with chemical storage yards and filling facilities. HBV facilities, on the other hand, are used for the manufacture, treatment and use of substances, as is the case, for example, with production facilities or machine rooms.


The use of highly chemical-resistant industrial floors, which prevent the harmful substances from penetrating into the subsoil, plays a central role in both LAU and HBV plants.

With VIASOL WHG neo classic and VIASOL WHG neo conductive, VIACOR now offers two new floor coating systems in accordance with §62 of the WHG.

The systems impress by meeting the highest demands for chemical as well as mechanical resistance. Depending on the application, the electrically conductive system VIASOL WHG neo conductive, for example for explosive areas, or the non-conductive system VIASOL WHG neo classic can be used. By edging, both systems can also be used to design WHG-compliant retention ponds.

For optimum protection against substances hazardous to water, the VIASOL WHG neo systems offer extraordinary chemical resistance.

In addition to tests of the liquid groups of the DIBt, tests of various individual media are available, according to which the systems prove to be particularly resistant to various acids, alkalis, alcohols, fuels and other substances. In addition to chemical resistance, the two systems also exhibit extraordinary mechanical properties. With a particularly high static crack bridging of up to 0.4 mm, the coatings remain liquid-tight and retain their protective function even if cracks appear in the substrate. In addition to pneumatic tires, solid rubber and Vulkollan wheels, the systems can also be driven on with the particularly hard polyamide wheels and are thus ideally suited for forklifts, lift trucks and roll carts.
