Sto and VIACOR product brands will continue to operate independently of each other in the market, covering different areas of application.
Rottenburg, 27 September 2019 - Sto SE & Co. KGaA, one of the major international manufacturers of products and systems for building coatings, will acquire 50.1% company shares of VIACOR Polymer GmbH, Rottenburg am Neckar, with effect from 1 January 2020 and subject to the approval of the Bundeskartellamt (German Federal Cartel Office).
“Due to strategic reasons, we will have to expand our development-, production- and warehouse-areas. We are glad in finding a powerful and competent partner in Sto, which is supporting our innovations and growth”, says Dr Ralf Jooss, manager and founder of VIACOR Polymer GmbH.
Since its foundation in 2000, VIACOR has made an excellent name for itself, particularly in the field of the company’s industrial floors and sports floor coatings under the PORPLASTIC brand. Particularly impressive are VIACOR’s high level of development expertise and varied portfolio of polyurethane-based products.
VIACOR’s competences thus complement the know-how of the Sto Group, which offers high-quality products for floor coatings under the StoCretec brand for many years. The investment is intended to effectively round off and expand StoCretec’s portfolio.
Dr Ralf Jooss, founder and co-partner of VIACOR Polymer GmbH, will continue to manage the company. Sto SE & Co. KGaA will especially benefit from his skills and expertise as an experienced entrepreneur and product developer.
Sto and VIACOR product brands will continue to operate independently of each other in the market, covering different areas of application. The synergies resulting from the cooperation are expected to be particularly strong in the areas of development and production.
